Fortunately, the Mexican uncle and his nephew came to China
with a full stock of medications, just in case. (NN: The uncle’s dad is a
doctor of internal medicine so they were sent fully prepared. About 3 different
medicines for stomach ailments. Thanks so much to them!) So they were nice
enough to give me some aspirin to try and break the fever. Weak and wasted from
the day, I skipped dinner and spent a feverish night in the hotel room while
Nick and a few others went off to ride the MagLev high speed train.

(NN: So we
took the subway to the MagLev station which was a riot in itself. For a Sunday
night it was pretty crowded. Then the door opens about 5 stops from where we
need to be and the French-Canadian starts exiting the train. We had to call him
back and all had a good laugh, including the Chinese passengers. The MagLev was
awesome, we were traveling 301 kmph (186 mph)! The cars traveling at maybe 60
mph besides us looked like they were stopped.)
